Background
Challenges
In a new design direction, this Retirement Living project created a large amount of shared spaces and community for the existing 42 residences and creation of 43 new residences delivered. The project comprised two apartment buildings over three levels each, with shared spaces and a green internal courtyard, including a rooftop function room, cafe with alfresco dining, varying sized lounges, library, indoor pool and gym. A major challenge for PPMGA was to deliver an extension that added value to the existing residences, linking into one cohesive community, whilst minimising disruption for existing residents such as temporary access and service limitations.
Solutions
PPMGA devised and managed a strong communication process, underpinned by our detailed knowledge of programme and staging, as well as client priorities. PPMGA provided a holistic delivery of the project, rather than just the project management of a builder.
Results
The new residences in the project were presold, being very well received by the market. Existing residents were well informed and managed during the entire project. The project was also named a Finalist in the 2017 Property Council of Australia awards for Best Retirement Living Development.
