This 16,000sqm greenfield sub regional shopping centre project included the integration of Woolworths, Dan Murphy's and Aldi as major retailers at this centre, each having distinctly different design briefs and tenancy requirements. In addition, 17 specialty retailers were planned for each with differing demands from consultants and architects. In general, execution of leases were late in the program requiring some degree of flexibility.
Solutions
To deliver to program and budget, PPMGA needed to provide a large degree of value management on design and construction aspects, as well as changing the construction methodology to advance the program. PPMGA was able to leverage our cost planning expertise also to ensure adequate contingencies were factored in. An experienced design team was used, ensuring we could leverage the entire project team's knowledge of a wide variety of design briefs.
Results
The project was delivered ahead of program and under budget, whilst incorporating the needs of the Tenants especially on program.
